Payment and cancellation policy
15% prepayment of total price, fully refundable 24 hours before start of rental.
85% of total price will be charged at the beginning of rental agreement.
Driving license and age requirements
Renter must be 20 years of age and 23 to rent a jeep or mini buses. A full driver's license must have been held for at least 12 months and must be presented at the start of the rental.
Credit card imprint
All rentals are subject to the full rental agreement terms and conditions at the time of rental. A credit card imprint will be taken at the start of all rentals for security reasons, even if the rental has been paid for in advance. The credit card imprint may be used to pay all extra charges including extra insurance, parking fines, damages or any cost due to the rented car as a result of the renter's use of the car.
Rental period
The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours). When the drop is one hour or more after the pick-up time, it is regarded as a full day.
Pick-up and drop-off services
For customers arriving or departure at Keflavik International Airport we offer pick-up and drop-off service at a normal additional charge. For customers in the Reykjavik areas staying at hotels or other accommodation we also offer pick up and drop of service at a normal additional charge.
Driving in Iceland
Road conditions in Iceland vary substantially. Travelers can have information on driving conditions at www.vegagerdin.is and see video for foreign drivers at www.drive.is and www.umferdarstofa.is/id/2693. In Iceland it is mandatory for young children to travel in safety seats while in a vehicle. A child seats are generally suitable for children aged from 6 months to 4 years of age
Car types
We reserve the right to substitute vehicles when the reserved car types are not available.
Fuel tank
The rental car will have full fuel tank. The car should be returned with full tank, or a charge will be made for the missing liters.
Local Taxes
All local taxes are included in the prices.
Insurance
Third part liability is equivalent to the amount stipulated by Icelandic law at each time. This also applies to the amount of individual driver liability. Third party coverage and personal accident insurance is automatically included in your rental.
Super collision damage waiver (SCDW)
SCDW insurance covers the driver's liability in excess of EURO 600 for 2WD and EURO 1000 for 4WD or mini-buses. The renter is, however, always responsible for the following damages: negligence, driving while intoxicated, damage to tires, headlights, wind-screen and the underside of the car, damage caused by loose rocks which get thrown at the car on gravel roads, damages to the engine of the car caused by water getting into the motor. Additionally, we offer Gravel Protection (GP), (damage to windscreen, headlights and the car when gravel or rocks get thrown on the vehicle by another car) and theft protection (TP).
Assistance
You will be given a map of Iceland and Reykjavik at the start of the rental and information about emergency line, (112, the Icelandic help line) and a number to call in case of break down.
